Rather than spend too much time restoring my original item, I have purchased a 16" Motolita woodrim, a repro Jaguar XKE item.

Polka dot alloy (door shuts)
When the doors are open, a considerable area of aluminium can be seen on the door shuts and kick plates. This was originally cut from a flat sheet, with some small areas of beating/reshaping. The pattern is now rare - it is shared with the dash panel of vey early Jaguar E-types.















Aston Martin sell a "polka dot" but this is actually a hatched pattern. I have found that AH Spares sell large sheets of the material at a reasonable price.
